      • Step 3: 10 hours per patent/chart based on public literature and documentation
      • Step 4: 15-30 hours of chip level reverse engineering if required

  3. Wireless & Video Portfolio Acquisition
  4. The goal of this project to provide technical due diligence for acquisition purposes. In this case, the seller had provided our client with claim charts.

    • Claim chart review of over 300 wireless standard essential patents: 3 hours per patent
    • Prior art analysis on portion of these patents: 1 hour per patent
    • Prior art analysis on portion of these patents: 1 hour per patent
    • Prior art analysis on portion of these patents: 1 hour per patent
    • Prior art analysis on portion of these patents: 5-10 hours per patent

  5. Handset Reverse Engineering
  6. In this porject, our client was interested in identifying high value implementation patents in their large portfolio. The purpose of the project was to identify the patents that can be used fo licensing and/or litigation purposes.

    • Initiated with over 3000 patents
    • Product infringement
      • Step 1: 15 minutes per patent
      • Step 2: 1 hour per patent
      • Step 3: 10 hours per patent for standard cases
      • Step 4: 20-30 hours for Reverse Engineering cases
    • Output: close to 10 solid Evidence of Use charts for licensing negotiation purpose
