Michael Mavaddat - Business Strategy Expert
Michael Mavaddat is Executive Vice President, Innovation and Development
with Decision Strategies International, Inc. (DSI) and a Senior Fellow at
the Mack Center for Technological Innovation at the Wharton School,
University of Pennsylvania.
Michael has been a consultant and advisor to several organizations across numerous industries, including: 3Com Corporation, Abbott Laboratories, AAHSA, Bethpage Federal Credit Union, Bristol-Myers Squibb, CASE Corporation, Chase, Ciba-Geigy (Novartis), Cornell University, Defense Logistics Agency, DuPont, Eli Lilly, Endurance, Genentech, General Chemical, Glaxo Smithkline Beecham, Kinecta Credit Union, Knight-Ridder, LIMRA International, Microsoft Corporation, Merrill Lynch, National Grid (UK), New York Life, Pfizer, Progress Software, Siemens, Unocal, UNUM, US Army Corps of Engineers, Wells Fargo, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals.
Prior to his career in management consulting, Mr. Mavaddat developed a broad base of experience in business strategy and management with Bristol-Myers Squibb Company in pharmaceuticals and Western Digital Corporation and GEC-Plessey Company (UK) in electronics.
He is co-author of a chapter on the role of scenario planning in managing
emerging technologies in the book Wharton on Managing Emerging
Technologies (Wiley; 2000).
Dr. Saied Kazeminejad – Wireless Technologist & Spectrum Management Expert
Dr. Saied Kazeminejad has over 20 years of working experience in major
U.S wireless carriers and manufacturers. He has served as Subject Matter
Experts in architectural level and Radio Access Network of 1xEV-DO, GSM,
GPRS, EDGE, WiMAX, and DVB-SH technologies and products. His major
expertise is in wireless network design, optimization, key performance
indicators, interference analysis, link budgets, and propagation models.
He has gained extensive experience in spectrum management; rules,
interference analysis, and co-existence guidelines for terrestrial and
satellite systems. Dr. Kazeminejad has had notable contributions in
product and technology evaluation, standards development, regulatory
approval, design reviews, performance verification, writing application
and optimization guidelines, training and preparation of RFI. Dr.
Kazeminejad is a senior member of IEEE and has numerous publications.
Dr. Ghobad Heidari – Director of Innovation Services
Dr. Heidari has over 18 years of wireless communication research,
development and management. Most recently he was the VP of engineering at
Olympus R&D center in San Diego, developing WPAN (WiMedia UWB) solutions.
Prior to Olympus he was with Quicksilver Technologies (working on CDMA,
WCDMA, WLAN and ISDB-T technologies), Nokia (developing CDMA handsets),
Ameritech (deploying first CDMA cellular network in Chicago), and LCC
(designing cellular RF networks for CDMA and GSM carriers). Dr. Heidari
has been closely involved in the standardization processes of various
technologies including TIA, 3GPP2, IEEE, Ecma, as well as their
associated special Interest Groups such as CDG and WiMedia. Dr. Heidari
is author of numerous publications and holder of 30 patents. He is the
co-author of the UWB PHY, MAC and WLP specifications of the WiMedia
Alliance.
